- Requires: ✧ Will
- Origins: Kananite
- Start with: ✪ Offering, Shinarian language
You’ve learned how to please and appease Lord Adod, the mighty ruling god of Tel-Kanan. Perhaps you’re a priest who led sacrifices to the Lord at a Kananite temple. Or perhaps you had a revelation in the wilderness, believing that the Lord spoke to you through the sound of the wind.
You know the Shinarian language. Prayers to the Lord are typically spoken in an archaic form of the common tongue that’s closer to Shinarian than modern Kananite.
You’re well-versed on all aspects of Adod’s temples, and you can easily find favor with the god’s priests.
You have passing familiarity with the customs of Syre, the capital of Tel-Kanan, even if you’ve never visited the sacred city.
You start with the following ability:
✪ Offering
✧ Will As a rest activity, roll Compel to perform a sacrifice to Lord Adod. Messengers have wind advantage on this roll.✦ 5+: You gain +1 overflow Spirit and +1 overflow Stamina.⬖ 3–4: No effect.ⓧ 1–2: The Lord must be displeased. You end your rest with -1 spirit (or -1 stamina, if you have no spirit remaining). If your max Spirit is zero, you can't perform this activity. Your sacrifice must be something that is physically transformed into a gaseous state. It can be a burnt offering of the corpses of foes you’ve slain in the Lord’s name. The Lord is also said to enjoy boiled wine and smoke from particularly delicious foods burnt on a sacrificial brazier, provided they are adequately seasoned with salt.↳ If you have an idol, you gain additional benefits from a success. Ask the Guide:
Does anything about this temple or ritual seem out of place or not up to the Lord’s standards?
How can we find favor with the local priest?
How does this compare to the customs in Syre, the holy capital?
